Will this story have a happy ending? Broken dreamers somehow mending Feel vibrations in the earth As California gives birth Sing from the heart Brothers taking care of older brothers Or breaking hearts as bad as faithless lovers Catch a wave of family And dive right on into the sea Sing from the heart One day we’ll we be apart Sing from the heart Now this story finds its beginning Mountains crumble, sunless sky is singing Old man sitting in a chair Remembering the when and where Sing from the heart

Those California boys got sunshine in their eyes The Pacific Ocean running through their veins And when you hear them sing and play their Fender guitars I know you’re gonna remember their names Brian Wilson Carl Wilson Dennis Wilson Mike Love (Al Jardine or maybe David Marks) Brian is the leader, he’s got that goofy smile Dennis is the only one that really surfs Carl plays guitar at a hundred miles an hour Mike sings low and he dances like your dad Chorus (Their harmonies will really knock you out) Al was the one who showed Brian Sloop John B And David Marks lived right across the street Chorus (The best surf band in California) Chorus (Al Jardine or maybe David Marks) And let's not forget about Bruce Johnston...

On top of the world On top of the world, that’s where it all went wrong You freaked out on the way to Houston and had to call your Mom To come and pick you up, and take you home Screaming 'I can't take it any more', there was nothing be done On top of the world There was so much pressure on you On top of the world So much relying on you So it’s no wonder, no wonder Everything started to crack on top of the world It’s 1964 - no-one knows what to do Your friends don’t talk about their feelings, they don’t reach out to you Voices in your head, you’re acting really strange And you know you can’t keep going on like this, something’s gonna have to change Now you’re on top of the world There’s so much pressure on you On top of the world So much relying on you So it’s no wonder, no wonder Everything started to crack on top of the world You swore that you would never tour again Just stay home in bed and write the songs Glen Campbell sat in and sang the high parts While the interband relationships fell apart But for now you’re on top of the world What if you fell, what if you fell, from on top of the world On top of the world What if you fell, what if you fell, from on top of the world So it’s no wonder, everything started to crack on top of the world

Audree You had two daughters, a house on Laurel way, and a pool When you look back on those days, how do you feel about it all ? He was always working the days were so long, Then he’d wake you up at 3am to play you his songs You were the woman he loved Marilyn You were the woman he loved Marilyn I don't know much about you but you seem like you have a big heart Protecting Brian from the world so he can make his art Music is his first love, you're there with the rest Well you say you're happy settling for second best You are the woman he loves Melinda You are the woman he loves Melinda

Dogs are barking as you walk away And we see you on the back of the train So much love and joy in your music but it breaks my heart Knowing what comes next Hard to listen now, understanding what you lost All this harmony, but at what cost So much love and joy in your music And it breaks my heart Knowing what comes next Brian, we know What comes next (When will you be?) (One day you will be)
